Help Center
Everything you need to get the most out of SurveyExtreme. Follow our step-by-step guides below, or contact us if you need further assistance.
- 1
Create your free account
Visit the Sign Up page and enter your email address and a secure password. You will receive a verification code via email — enter it to confirm your account. That's it! Your account is ready and you can start creating surveys immediately.
- 2
Explore your dashboard
After signing in, you will land on your Dashboard. This is your command center: you can see all your surveys, their status (draft, published, or closed), response counts, and quick links to edit or view results. The 'Create New Survey' button is at the top.
- 3
Understand survey statuses
Surveys have three statuses. Draft means the survey is not yet visible to respondents — you can edit it freely. Published means the survey is live and accepting responses. Closed means the survey is no longer accepting new responses, but you can still view existing results.
- 1
Start a new survey
Click 'Create New Survey' from your dashboard. You will be taken to the survey builder. Start by giving your survey a clear, descriptive title. Optionally add a description to provide context for respondents — this text appears at the top of the survey.
- 2
Add questions
Click 'Add Question' to add your first question. Choose from nine question types: Multiple Choice, Checkboxes (select multiple), Yes/No, Star Rating, Numeric Scale, Net Promoter Score (NPS), Likert Scale, Matrix Grid, and Open Text. Each type is designed for different kinds of feedback.
- 3
Configure question options
For each question, you can: mark it as required (respondents must answer before submitting), add a description to provide additional context, and customize the answer options. For rating scales, you can adjust the range. For multiple choice, add, remove, or reorder options as needed.
- 4
Reorder questions
Drag and drop questions to rearrange them. Place easy, engaging questions first to build momentum. Group related questions together. Save demographic or sensitive questions for the end.
- 5
Use AI suggestions
SurveyExtreme's AI-powered suggestion feature can help you generate questions based on your survey topic. Describe what you want to learn, and the AI will suggest relevant, well-crafted questions that you can add with one click and customize as needed.
- 6
Use templates
Don't want to start from scratch? Choose from pre-built templates for common survey types: Net Promoter Score (NPS), Customer Satisfaction (CSAT), Employee Feedback, Event Feedback, and Course Evaluation. Templates come pre-loaded with professionally crafted questions that you can customize.
- 7
Preview and publish
Use the preview feature to see your survey exactly as respondents will see it. Check the flow, question wording, and mobile appearance. When you're satisfied, click 'Publish' to make your survey live. You will receive a unique shareable link immediately.
- 1
Copy your survey link
Every published survey gets a unique, short link (e.g., surveyextreme.com/s/your-survey-id). Copy this link from your dashboard or the sharing panel. Anyone with this link can take your survey — no account or login required.
- 2
Use the built-in social sharing buttons to share your survey directly to popular platforms. The sharing panel provides one-click buttons for major social networks and messaging apps. Your survey link will include a preview card with your survey title and description.
- 3
Paste your survey link into any email, text message, or messaging app. For email distribution, include a brief personal message explaining why you are sending the survey and how long it takes to complete. Personalized invitations significantly increase response rates.
- 4
Embed on your website
SurveyExtreme provides an embed code that lets you display your survey directly on your website. Copy the iframe embed code from the sharing panel and paste it into your web page's HTML. The embedded survey is responsive and adapts to the container width.
- 5
Share results publicly
Want your audience to see the results? Enable 'Public Results' in your survey settings. This generates a separate results link (e.g., surveyextreme.com/r/your-survey-id) where anyone can view real-time aggregated charts and statistics.
- 1
Access your results
Click 'View Results' on any survey from your dashboard. The results page shows real-time analytics that update automatically as new responses come in. You don't need to refresh the page — charts and statistics update live.
- 2
Read the overview metrics
At the top of the results page, you will see key metrics: total responses, completion rate, and response trends over time. The completion rate tells you what percentage of people who started the survey also finished it. A low completion rate may suggest the survey is too long or has confusing questions.
- 3
Understand question-level charts
Each question type generates appropriate visualizations. Multiple choice and checkbox questions show bar charts with response counts and percentages. Rating scales show distribution charts. NPS questions display the score with a breakdown of Promoters, Passives, and Detractors. Open text responses are listed individually.
- 4
Identify patterns and outliers
Look for questions where responses cluster around a single option (strong consensus) versus questions where responses are spread across all options (divided opinions). Pay special attention to open-ended responses that mention specific issues or suggestions — these often contain the most actionable feedback.
- 5
Share and export results
Enable public results to share a live analytics dashboard with stakeholders via a direct link. This is useful for transparent feedback processes where you want respondents or the community to see aggregated results.
- 1
Update your password
You can change your password at any time from your account settings. For security, your password must contain at least 8 characters, including uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
- 2
Manage your surveys
Your dashboard shows all surveys you have created. You can edit published surveys, close them to stop accepting responses, or delete surveys you no longer need. Deleted surveys and their responses are permanently removed.
- 3
Delete your account
To delete your account and all associated data (surveys, responses, and account information), contact us at info@surveyextreme.com. We will process your request and permanently remove all your data from our servers.
